• Ooyala Pursues OTT Market With Ooyala Everywhere

Online video platform provider Ooyala jumped into the over-the-top space today, unveiling at the NAB Show "Ooyala Everywhere," a set of technologies and services to deliver premium content on mobile devices, connected TVs and browsers. Bismarck Lepe, Ooyala's co-founder and president of products updated me last week.

Ooyala Everywhere is primarily targeted to international pay-TV operators, but also to domestic ones that have not yet determined their TV Everywhere plans. A key feature of Ooyala Everywhere is "Personal Playback" a universal login and entitlement service that provides authentication with a pay-TV operator's CRM or 3rd-party service like the recently-announced Adobe PASS or Ooyala's subscription management service. Personal Playback lets users start watching on one screen and then seamlessly continue watching on another. This type of multi-platform access is going to become extremely popular as mobile and connected devices proliferate. Ooyala Everywhere is also integrated with DRM solutions including Adobe Flash Access, Widevine and Microsoft PlayReady.

As part of today's announcement, Ooyala is also introducing the "Ooyala Everywhere Partner Network," with products such as Roku, boxee, Google TV, YouView and connected devices from LG and Panasonic.
