Today I'm very excited to announce ELEVATE: Online Video Advertising Summit, a new, one-day conference, which, as the name implies, will focus entirely on the dynamic online video advertising industry. The date of the conference is Tuesday, June 7th, during Internet Week in New York City.
I'm equally excited to share that my partner in ELEVATE is Marc Sternberg, who until recently was the President and COO of AlwaysOn, the highly respected technology industry conference/networking company. Marc has a wealth of event and sponsorship experience from organizing over 20 executive-level events at AO. He also has deep entertainment industry experience from 23 years on the publishing side of The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. Importantly, we share a common vision for the ELEVATE conference and our skills are extremely complementary to one another.
ELEVATE will be a must attend event for senior executives from brands, agencies, content providers/publishers, technology providers and others in the fast-growing online video ad ecosystem who are eager to see it grow and mature. Marc and I intend to work closely with key industry thought-leaders to attract the right participants, create the most informative sessions and enable the best networking so that attendees have the highest-impact experience. We see ELEVATE as a joint venture with online video ad leaders who understand that a rising tide lifts all boats.
What you can expect at ELEVATE are a mix of sessions that will be focused and educational, (and start and end on schedule), speakers that are carefully selected based on their ability to add real value to the topics being discussed, moderators who have deep domain expertise and know-how to effectively moderate, and keynotes by senior industry leaders whose companies are primary market influencers. In short, Marc and I plan to bring best practices to ELEVATE, based on our years of hosting numerous industry events. For me, ELEVATE is a natural evolution from VideoNuze's series of 10 successful "VideoSchmooze" events over the last 3 years. Though it's still early, feedback from potential participants and sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive.
As VideoNuze readers know, I have closely covered the growth and innovation in online video advertising over the past 3 1/2 years. I continue to be astounded at both the pace of technology innovation and also the intensifying interest that major brands have in online video. Whereas just a few years ago online video was funded out of "experimental" budgets, it is now a top tier priority. Proof points of how compelling online video advertising has become continue to surface each week.
But ELEVATE isn't about singing the praises of online video advertising; it's about bringing together the industry for a candid, strategic discussion of what's working and what's not, the critical challenges that remain and how they should be addressed, the larger context of technology enablers driving the industry forward, and what is still unknown. Online video advertising's continued success is critical because even though paid models like Netflix have surged over the past year, the reality is that the vast majority of online video is funded from ad dollars. In that vein, ELEVATE will also be a place where business will get done - new relationships made, leads created, partnerships developed and ideas exchanged.

Marc and I will be tapping into our extensive industry relationships to ensure the optimal mix of attendees.
