Clearleap has raised a new round of $20 million led by Susquehanna Growth to help accelerate TV Everywhere deployments by content providers and pay-TV operators both domestically and internationally. With the new financing, Clearleap has raised $36 million to date. Clearleap plans to hire 150 employees over the next 18 months.
Clearleap counts among its customers HBO, Verizon, Time Warner Cable, Food Network and Travel Channel, among others. Two weeks ago the company also announced iN DEMAND as its latest customer. Clearleap also opened its first international office, in Amsterdam, in August.
As both content providers and pay-TV operators have made distributing to multiple devices a top strategic priority, Clearleap has become a key player. The company's cloud-based, SaaS ClearFlow platform manages all of the logistics involved in securely distributing premium content over IP networks. In addition to the core Multiscreen Video Manager module, ClearFlow also offer Video Processing, Monetization and Affiliate Distribution modules that can integrate with existing infrastructure and workflows.
With OTT services like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu Plus growing aggressively around the world, there is no question that content providers and pay-TV operators will continue to place a huge priority on TVE rollouts. Clearleap is poised to be a huge beneficiary of all of this activity.
(Note: Clearleap is a VideoNuze sponsor and also a sponsor of the Dec. 3rd VideoSchmooze in NYC. Tickets are still available!)
