Happy Holidays
Wow, another year has already passed!
Being in the online and mobile video world often feels like a roller-coaster ride - fast-moving and with lots of twists and turns, some that are expected and some that are total surprises. 2011 was no exception. The industry as a whole continued to advance rapidly with lots of technology/product innovation, new content and distribution deals, financings and M&A activity and disruption to multiple industries. Whether through anecdotes from friends and family about their changing viewing behaviors or the regular diet of industry data, it's clear that online and mobile video are becoming commonplace experiences. All of that is very good news for everyone in the video ecosystem.
It is great fun for me to be a part of the excitement, helping VideoNuze readers each day better understand the ever-changing landscape. I enjoy your reactions - whether you agree or disagree with me, feel I nailed something or completely missed the point, got caught up in the hype or sound like a scrooge - I always enjoy hearing from VideoNuze readers. I know you have lots of choices about what to read, and I so I appreciate you spending time with VideoNuze.
I also want to say a huge thank you to all of VideoNuze's sponsors - whether on the web site, email or live events - none of this would be possible without their support. It is very gratifying to know VideoNuze delivers value and I look forward to developing these relationships further.
Looking ahead to 2012, the market is poised to further accelerate. As the range of industry executives' predictions for next year have underscored, it will be a year where trends around monetization, devices and the battle for market share escalate. No doubt there will be plenty of surprises along the way as well.
Next week I'll be continuing to post more predictions as they roll in, but otherwise I'll be trying to relax a bit and prepare for another exciting year.
I wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season!
